Neck Pain

Causes of Neck Pain

When injury, accidents, and whiplash occur to the neck they need proper rehabilitation and healing in order to ensure that the neck and its structures are able to withstand the normal day to day functions without suffering from more pain and injury.  When the neck is injured it can become inflamed, the muscles can become too tense, and the cervical vertebrae become misaligned.  Factors such as poor posture, prolonged sitting, poor sleeping positions, and infrequent spinal alignments will lead to further pain and injury.

Some of the more common causes of neck pain include:

  • past injuries not proprerly treated
  • infrequent adjustments
  • cervical subluxations
  • whiplash
  • poor workplace ergonomics
  • poor posture
  • extended periods of sitting
  • frequent and repetitive neck motions
  • excessive stress
  • poor nutrition
